Wendy Simko, Owner/Art Director

I have over 15 years of design experience with a demonstrated ability to lead creative development from concept to market, on time and on budget. Over those years I have developed strong creative and collabortive skills, and have proven that I am a highly organized, results-oriented leader who can take charge of a team or work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.

I started my career in the design and advertising field in the summer of 1990, while still in high school. I got a job working for a small advertising agency, first as a Receptionist, which then turned into a position as Office Manager. Eventually, while getting my degree in Studio Art at Southern Connecticut State University, I worked my way to the position of Graphic Designer and then onto Art Director. Working at a small agency gave me the opportunity to absorb the knowledge needed to run a successful company, not only design, but in areas such as media and budget planning and client relations.

After leaving the agency in 2005, I took a position at a world-wide telecommunications company where I worked as the Senior Art Director in their global marketing department. There I directed the design team, oversaw all design and print production projects, developed creative briefs and production timelines, trafficked materials, organized team meetings and managed direct reports.

Finally, in the fall of 2006 I started the WS Jones Creative Group, and since then I have been providing print and online design work to national and international clients on a freelance/consultant basis.
